Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime'

Pale lime, cream-green marbling and deeper green edges give Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime' soft lime-green colouring. The plant forms a rounded upright clump from short stems, with new leaves opening close to the centre before expanding into broad oval to lance-shaped blades.

Young plants usually stay dense and multi-stemmed. Established plants widen gradually as fresh shoots appear at the base, so the pale crown becomes fuller while keeping a modest footprint.

Arctic Lime quick profile

  • Compact Aglaonema with soft lime-green and cream-green foliage
  • Broad oval to lance-shaped leaves with darker green margins
  • Smooth, slightly arching blades on fleshy petioles
  • Rounded indoor habit from short cane-like stems
  • Warmth and filtered light help new leaves emerge at a normal size

Lime foliage and tropical forest background

Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime' has a pale central leaf field framed by deeper green edges. The pattern changes slightly from leaf to leaf, giving natural variation while keeping the overall crown light and even.

Aglaonema belongs to the Araceae, the aroid family known for spadix-and-spathe inflorescences. Mature, settled plants can occasionally produce small arum-type flowers, although this cultivar is grown indoors for its pale lime foliage.

Wild Aglaonema species come from warm, humid, shaded tropical forest habitats across Asia and New Guinea. Indoors, keep it warm, give filtered light, and use an airy mix so the roots do not stay wet and new leaves do not stall.

Keeping Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime' healthy indoors

  • Light: Bright filtered light or steady medium light keeps new leaves closer in size and reduces stretched petioles. Strong midday sun can mark the pale leaf tissue, especially close to hot glass.
  • Watering: Let the top 2–4 cm of substrate dry before watering. When light levels drop and growth slows, wait a little longer between waterings.
  • Substrate: A loose foliage-plant mix with coco coir or fine bark, mineral particles and drainage keeps air around the fleshy roots so they do not sit wet.
  • Pot and drainage: Use a nursery pot with drainage holes. Let excess water run through fully before placing it back in a cover pot.
  • Temperature: Keep above 16 °C; around 18–26 °C, new leaves emerge more regularly and petioles stay firmer. Cold glass, draughts and wet substrate can lead to dark patches.
  • Humidity: A humidifier or nearby tropical plants can reduce crisp tips and stuck new leaves in very dry rooms.
  • Feeding: Use a balanced houseplant fertiliser at reduced strength while new leaves are forming. Heavy feeding can scorch leaf edges.
  • Repotting: Move up one pot size when roots fill the container, water runs through too quickly, or the root ball dries hard soon after watering.
  • Pruning: Remove yellowing older leaves at the base. Bare older stems can be shortened while the plant is producing leaves, so new shoots can break from lower nodes.
  • Propagation: Divide established clumps or root stem cuttings with visible nodes. Warmth and steady light moisture keep cuttings from drying before new roots extend.
  • Mineral substrates: Move only plants with firm active roots into mineral substrate; weak or damaged roots can rot during the change.

Arctic Lime health checks

  • Yellow lower leaves: One ageing leaf is normal. Several yellow leaves together usually point to a wet root zone, poor drainage or cold conditions.
  • Brown leaf tips: Review watering pattern, fertiliser strength and dry indoor air. Flush the substrate gently if salts have built up.
  • Pale, papery patches: Direct sun or heat against a window is likely. Move the plant further from the glass or filter the light.
  • Soft stems or sour-smelling substrate: Inspect the roots. Soft brown roots show that the mix has stayed too wet or too cold.
  • Fine speckling or dull leaves: Check undersides and petiole bases for mites. Rinse the foliage and isolate the plant before treatment.

Placement and leaf cleaning

Rotate Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime' regularly so new petioles do not all lean toward the window. Wipe dust from the leaves with a soft damp cloth to keep the pale marbling visible and make pest checks easier.

Pet safety for Arctic Lime

The leaves and stems of Aglaonema 'Arctic Lime' contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. If pets or children eat plant tissue, it can irritate the mouth, tongue and throat. Keep the plant out of reach, and wear gloves when pruning or dividing if your skin reacts easily to aroid sap.

Great Sunscreen at a Great Price!
Style: SPF 50, Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Love this sunscreen. I live in FL and like to walk most mornings, and need a good sunblock. This Amazon Basics is far better than my previous, far more expensive brand. It's a great price for great quality. I've been using it on my body & face, it's non-greasy, absorbs well, and really seems to offer very good sun protection. And I really appreciate the next day shipping on my past two orders, Amazon. Thanks for the great product & great service!

I use it as an Amazon delivery driver, and it works in the heat and sweat is no issue it does last for 2 hours. Reapplying it is extremely easy, no burns or sun damage to my skin. I can tell you it works cause I’m recovering from skin cancer and it works no problems or anything.

Just ok - too thick to apply evenly
Style: SPF 50, Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Just ok - very thick, so difficult to apply evenly. I use this for outdoor cycling and it works, but it's so thick that it tends to clump instead of smoothly covering the skin.

Best Moisturizer & Clears ECZEMA FAST! TIPS & BONUS USES
Size: 11 Ounce (Pack of 1)
After wasting money on many supermarket and expensive brands, this is the only one that really works! I don't have eczema, but another friend does, who first told me about this product. I do have dry skin, though, whenever I over wash my hands due to chores, repairs or taking care of family, and the dry indoor heat or coldness of winter weather. My friend with eczema swears by this. She's tried other brands and even prescriptions, which have side effects (steroids thin the skin and is bad for your immunity). When her skin had cracks or is itchy, she applies it, and it heals up within a few days. She uses it also as maintenance daily, to prevent future outbreaks or skin cracking. There's the regular "Aveeno Eczema Therapy" in a tube, but it stings at first if you have any cracks in the skin, which subsides after a few minutes, but it works faster with sealing up cracks. I love this product because it's very rich, but not too greasy. It doesn't sting if you have skin cracks, and is gentler and still works well, but it takes a little bit longer. It's even more effective than the regular "Aveeno Baby Eczema Care" creme in a tube. I prefer jars because there's always some product left in a tube. You can't squeeze out what's left at the bottom, and have to cut the tube apart to get at it. AMAZON HAS THE BEST PRICE, that I've seen online or off. It's also available in the Baby Section only at stores like supermarkets, pharmacies, etc., but this is the lowest price. SUBSCRIBE, and you can save even more. DO NOT BUY ANY GENERICS! They don't work! I've tried buying them, since it looked like they had the same ingredients, and costs less, but they are simply not efficacious. USE WATER TO KEEP MOISTURE IN: Surprisingly enough, it's not the moisturizer per se that keeps your skin hydrated, it's water. For example, think of a grape (full, plump with water, juicy), versus a prune (a dried out grape). Moisturizer provides a physical barrier to keep your skin hydrated. Of course, a moisturizer's ingredients can also make it a superior or inferior product. The Aveeno Eczema line has colloidal oatmeal, which is soothing, and healing to the skin. HOW TO USE WATER WITH MOISTURIZER: Wet the application areas with water first (I run my hands lightly under the tap), so the product will absorb faster (water hydrates when mixed with moisturizer), and it won't be greasy. Your skin will feel non-greasy, and not wet within a few minutes. Use a paper towel or tissues to lightly wipe off the excess, and you can use your hands right away. I find that this method keeps my skin hydrated more effectively and longer. YOU'LL USE LESS CREAM WITH WATER: I use only a tablespoon size, and spread it all over my hands, and along my forearms and elbows. Water thins and spreads out the cream more easily. You can use it on DRY, CRACKED FEET, too. Apply it throughout the day after you wash your hands and before bed, and you'll never get dry skin or eczema outbreaks again! (Per me and my circle of friends). BUY SEVERAL JARS, and scatter around them the house, like the bathrooms, kitchen, work areas, etc. BONUS USES: 1. INSECT BITES: A friend reported that it even works in a pinch to help alleviate bug bites that she's gotten (fleas from animal rescue, mosquitoes, etc). Wash the area or use an alcoholic sanitizer or baby wipes to clean the bite area first. Then spread on Aveeno, if you don't have an antihistamine topical product handy. ALOE VERA GEL FROM THE PLANT also has miraculous healing powers with insect bites, burns, skin rashes, etc. You just cut a small piece at an angle, open it up with scissors along the leaf's seam, and apply the gel. You can wrap a bandage or strip of clean cloth lightly over the area to keep the gel in place, if you want. The cut plant area will close by itself within a day. Aloe vera is sold cheap at supermarkets, nurseries, etc., at under $10. The gel feels cool and soothing to the skin. The plant is superior to any packaged product. DO NOT SCRATCH THE ITCH! IF YOU IGNORE IT, IT'LL DISAPPEAR by itself within a few hours. Trust me, it really works with mosquito bites. I used to itch for days, until I stopped scratching it. Distract yourself by watching tv, reading or using your cell to ignore the itch, and just lightly apply your best anti-itch remedy (DO NOT RUB or you'll stimulate the histamines from the bite). Anytime that you're tempted to scratch, apply your remedy instead. THE BEST THINGS TO STOP ITCHING FAST (In order of effectiveness) are: 1) Anti-histamine topical product 2) Aloe vera gel from the plant (also heals the skin) 3) Aveeno creme (also heals the skin) 4) Alcoholic rub 2. SKIN RASHES: A friend of mine said she was by herself with the baby one day, stuck with no car and husband away, when the diaper creme had run out in the evening. She applied Aveeno several times, and the rash disappeared the next morning. Another friend used Aveeno for a strange rash that showed up on her arm when she accidentally brushed against some plants when hiking, and it disappeared within a few hours. She washed the area first, then applied the cream. Of course, it's best to use a product designed for rashes, especially for babies. And get any mysterious rash checked out by a doctor. Btw, I don't get compensated for any of my reviews. I wanted to give a recommendation for a fantastic moisturizer that I've been using for several years.
